Be a Culture Cultivator

Culture Boosting 100 in 100: Day 57

· Culture Boosting 100,Leadership

“Create the kind of workplace and company culture that will attract great talent. If you hire brilliant people, They will make work feel more like play.”

- Richard Branson

The Why

“Leaders make a mistake when they don’t proactively cultivate and codify their culture, because no matter what leaders do, or don’t do, a culture will form.”

- Dr. Jennifer Chatman

The Tips

1. Make it real. Cultural values can’t be platitudes on a coffee mug or discussed once a year at staff

retreats. It’s something people need to feel deeply about and apply to their work every day.

2. Put some of the power to impact culture back into employees’ hands by developing energizer teams.

3. Align policies with culture change. Set up the structures, processes, and incentives in your organization to drive culture change.
