Recognizing each employee’s version of excellence helps them learn and grow.
1. As Marcus Buckingham states, “[highlight] a pattern that is already there within her so that
she can recognize it, anchor it, re-create it, and refine it”.
2. Again citing Buckingham, when giving feedback for people who are stuck use this framework:
present, past, future.
a) Present: What are three things that are working for you now?
b) Past: When you had a similar problem like this in the past, what worked for you?
c) Future: What do you already know you need to do?
