The Why

Providing guidance may inspire new ideas and help the employee learn new strategies.

The Tips

1. Have a “what’s stuck meeting”. Use the time to think about work or processes that can be accomplished differently.

2. Ask “how might we?” This solution focused question allows ideas to surface rather than roadblocks.

3. Break down your goal into manageable pieces.

4. Gain a commitment to listening. Encourage the employee to hear the validity in alternative points of view.
