How to send a STAR

To get started

To get started with Stars, click the Stars icon on the left sidebar.

To send a STAR

• Click the ‘Send A STAR’ button
• Select the person you’d like to send a STAR to (either type their name in the input field or scroll through the list of names until you reach them).
• Choose between ‘Guided STAR’ process or ‘Skip’ (for an unguided process):
• If Guided is selected
• You’ll be taken through 4 prompts. Each prompt :
• What was the Situation that sparked this recognition?
• What Task were they completing?
• What was unique about their Approach?
• What was the final Result that influenced you to write the recognition?
• Tag values
• In the ‘What value(s) most align with this action?’ field, either type the value in the input field or scroll through a list of pre-loaded values.
• <aside>💡 Your organization’s values will appear at the top of the values list under ‘Company Values’.
• </aside>
• Assign preferences
• Public or Private
• Keep toggle to the right (slider will be blue) to send publicly
• Toggle to the left (slider will turn grey) to send privately
• Anonymous or Non-Anonymous
• Keep toggle to the right (slider will be blue) to send anonymously
• Toggle to the left (slider will turn grey) to send as yourself
• If ‘Skip’ (Un-guided) is selected
• You’ll be taken directly to the summary view.
• Write out the praise and recognition
• Tag values
• In the ‘What value(s) most align with this action?’ field, either type the value in the input field or scroll through a list of pre-loaded values.
• Assign preferences
• Public or Private
• Keep toggle to the right (slider will be blue) to send publicly
• Toggle to the left (slider will turn grey) to send privately
• Anonymous or Non-Anonymous
• Keep toggle to the right (slider will be blue) to send anonymously
• Toggle to the left (slider will turn grey) to send as yourself
